Magazine Advert - Draft 1

I wanted to carry on the theme of simplicity when creating this magazine advert while also making the artist and EP clear to the audience and ensuring it is easy for a customer who sees the advert to then go and find the digipak without hassle, something which is common in other similar products as it seems the customer effort leading to more interest. Therefore i reused the previous water background using that as a border for the advert then used the first panel of the digipak as the main image at the top of the page meaning it is more than likely the first person a viewer will see. This gives an instant understanding of the product and what it is before the text below goes into more detail about it. The information below is in a separate box, something that appeared common from my research and so i reused this idea and used transparency in order to underlay a basic pattern on the image rather than having solid colour blocks, the pattern is something i found in my research to be very common, the other option being extending the main image into a full A4 sheet and placing the boxes above it however i did not feel that suited by digipak design. I then clearly divided the text boxes with the title in white placed ontop of a black background making it instantly stand out and then two further boxes, one providing information about the EP, the digipak, release date etc as you would expect on a standard advert and then the logos and a QR code linking to the artist's website on the opposite side in another box, an idea reused from one of my research adverts which used a similar design for giving information. I had also planned to have the name of the artist at the top of the page, covering over the top of the front cover slightly however due to the design on the digipak itself with the name so high up, in practice this was unneeded and so i used just the digipak panel to draw attention due to a similar purpose being behind the design of the front panel.
